PBS North Turns 60! Join the Celebration!

PBS North 60th anniversary event featuring four entertainers

Get ready to celebrate 60 fantastic years of PBS North!

We’re throwing a huge anniversary bash on Saturday, September 14th from 10 AM to 4 PM at Chester Park and you’re invited!

Join us for a day filled with fun for the whole family. Enjoy delicious eats from our food truck lineup, quench your thirst at the local craft beer garden, and enjoy the entertainment of the Okee Dokee Brothers, Stearns County Pachanga Society, the Woodland Sky Native American Dance Company, and Nicholas David.

What to expect:

  • Food Trucks: Satisfy your cravings with a variety of delicious food options. Featuring The Rambler, Oasis del Norte, Hickory Haze BBQ, Havana’s, Small Batch Bakery, and Arco Coffee.
  • Craft Beer Garden: Unwind and enjoy a refreshing local craft beer from 1pm to 4pm.
  • PBS North Talent: Meet the hosts of the local shows you love from 10am to 1pm.
    • Almanac North host Maarja Hewitt and Dennis Anderson.
    • Great Gardening host Sharon Yung and gardening expert Bob Olen.
    • Minnesota Historia host Hailey Eidenschink, and director Mike Scholtz.
    • Native Report producer Carly Jones and assistant production manager Lance Haavisto.
  • Making It Up North Artist Market: Discover unique handmade treasures from local artisans featured in the show Making It Up North. Featuring:
  • PBS KIDS Character Appearances: Meet Daniel Tiger, Clifford, Donkey Hodie, and Peg + Cat.

Free Shuttle Service

All visitors are encouraged to use the two free shuttle buses that will run continuously from the University of Minnesota Duluth parking lot B, located at the intersection of College St. and University Drive.  Parking is limited near the park, walking, biking (bike racks near the entrance), or using the shuttles is highly recommended. There are a limited number of handicapped-accessible parking spots near the entrance to the park.
